8 ft. Marion Barry statue by Steven Weitzman

Washington D.C. Artist and figurative sculptor Steven Weitzman of Weitzman Studio came by today to inspect and work on his 8 ft. wax.  

The sculpture of the former controversial D.C. mayor will reside outside the John A. Wilson building at 1330 Pennsylvania Avenue. The dedication is scheduled for March.

Honoring Emlen Tunnell, first African American NFL Hall of Famer

Artist Jennifer Frudakis-Petry came to the foundry today to inspect the wax of her seven foot sculpture.

Emlen Tunnell, (March 29, 1925 - July 22, 1975) was the first African American to play for the New York Giants, served during WWII, and also played for the Green Bay Packers.

On May 14, 2017 at Laran Bronze fine art foundry over a hundred local buddhists and monks from Thailand joined us. There was a ceremony and prayers. Many even tossed personal belongings (gold) into the crucible.

Another National Craftsmanship Award for Laran Bronze

On Friday the Washington Building Congress held a ceremony at which several members of our team received awards.  

The Holodomor Wheat Memorial is located in D.C. And was designed and executed by Lawrence Welker IV with the help of the Laran Team.
